Description

Aldosterone signaling plays a major role in the control of blood pressure by regulating sodium reabsorption in the kidney via expression of its target genes. Aldosterone is a steroid hormone that engages the aldosterone receptor, also known as the mineralocorticoid receptor - a member of the nuclear receptor family that belongs to subfamily 3 (Nr3c2). A unique feature of this receptor is that, in addition to aldosterone, it can be bound by different steroid hormones such as other mineralocortico
