Term: desipramine pharmacodynamics pathway
Accession: PW:0002090

Definition: The pathway of desipramine-target interaction and of the biochemical or physiological responses to drug. The drug is used in the treatment of major depression and its effect results from inhibition of norepinephrine and to a lesser extent serotonin neurotransmitter reuptake. Genetic variations can cause differences in the response of the organism to the drug.
