Transitive Annotation Pipeline

Manual, experimental Gene Ontology (GO), RGD Disease Ontology (DO) and Pathway Ontology (PW) annotations for genes housed at the Rat Genome Database (RGD) are automatically assigned to orthologous genes in other species where those annotations have not already been imported from another source. Orthologs in RGD are imported from HCOP (https://www.genenames.org/tools/hcop/) and from NCBI as well as being manually assigned by RGD curators. Annotations for the orthologs are given the evidence code "ISO" (Inferred from Sequence Orthology; for more information about this evidence code and how it is used, see the GO Consortium evidence code documentation at http://geneontology.org/docs/guide-go-evidence-codes/).
