Srebf targets include genes involved in cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism as well as the Insig1 gene. Insig1 is one of the two Insig members in the Srebf pathway. Some of the targets have been deduced by over-expression analyses of transcriptionally active nuclear Srebps [see reference PMID 14512514].
