Accession:GO:0102033 term browser browse the term
Definition:Catalysis of the reaction: an omega-methyl-long-chain fatty acid + O2 + reduced [NADPH--hemoprotein reductase] = an omega-hydroxy-long-chain fatty acid + H+ + H2O + oxidized [NADPH--hemoprotein reductase]. A long-chain fatty acid has an aliphatic tail containing 13 to 22 carbons.
Comment:While there is not universal consensus on the lengths of short-, medium-, long- and very-long-chain fatty acids, the GO uses the definitions in ChEBI (see CHEBI:26666, CHEBI:59554, CHEBI:15904 and CHEBI:27283).
Synonyms:related_synonym: cytochrome P450 fatty acid omega-hydroxylase activity
