The Adam proteases (sheddases) for the ligands of epidermal growth factor receptors include Adam17 (acting on Tgfa, Areg, Ereg and Hbegf), Adam10 (acting on Egf, Btc, Hbegf), Adam9 and 12 (acting on Hbegf) and Adam19 (acting on certain neuregulins). The Adam genes are listed with aliases in parentheses, full names and links to gene report pages:
