NCKXs

The sodium/calcium-potassium exchangers of the solute carrier family 24, known as NCKX, comprise five members; a sixth may belong to a distinct family. The carriers co-transport one Ca2+ and one K+ in exchange for four Na+ ions. For more information check PMID 17716241. The five genes are listed with aliases in parentheses, full names and links to gene report pages:

Slc24a1 (Nckx1) – solute carrier family 24 member 1
Slc24a2 (Nckx2) – solute carrier family 24 member 2
Slc24a3 (Nckx3) – solute carrier family 24 member 3
Slc24a4 (Nckx4) – solute carrier family 24 member 4
SLC24A5 (NCKX5) – solute carrier family 24 member 5 (human gene)
