GENE - TERM ANNOTATION REPORT

RGD ID: 1306376
Species: Rattus norvegicus
RGD Object: Gene
Symbol: Agl
Name: amylo-alpha-1, 6-glucosidase, 4-alpha-glucanotransferase
Acc ID: GO:0004135
Term: amylo-alpha-1,6-glucosidase activity
Definition: Catalysis of the hydrolysis of (1->6)-alpha-D-glucosidic branch linkages in glycogen phosphorylase limit dextrin. Limit dextrin is the highly branched core that remains after exhaustive treatment of glycogen with glycogen phosphorylase. It is formed because these enzymes cannot hydrolyze the (1->6) glycosidic linkages present.
Definition Source(s): EC:3.2.1.33, ISBN:0198506732
Note: Use of the qualifier "multiple interactions" designates that the annotated interaction is comprised of a complex set of reactions and/or regulatory events, possibly involving additional chemicals and/or gene products.
