Definition:The process of bringing together chromosomes fragments resulting from DNA damage. Broken chromosome tethering during mitosis ensures clustered segregation of the fragments to a single daughter cell nucleus, facilitating re-ligation with limited chromosome scattering and loss and enhancing genome integrity.
