The Ccr4-Not complex is a major deadenylase system. Several ‘canonical’ subunits exist, of which Ccr4 with the two mammalian orthologs Cnot6 and Cnot6l and Caf1 with the Cnot7 and Cnot8 mammalian orthologs, are the catalytic subunits. The large Cnot1 protein acts as a central scaffold. For more details, check PMID 23337855 and 22664986. The genes are listed with aliases in parentheses, full names and links to gene report pages:
Cnot1 (NOT1) – CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 1
Cnot2 (NOT2H) – CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 2
Cnot3 (NOT3) – CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 3
Cnot6 (Ccr4a) – CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 6
Cnot6l (CCR4b) – CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 6-like
Cnot7 (CAF1, Caf1a) – CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 7
Cnot8 (CAF1, CAF1-like protein) – CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 8
Cnot9 (Rqcd1) – CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 9
