Mammalian ER/SR P-type ATPase pumps (SERCA, ATP2A) undergo tissue-specific alternative splicing to effectively increase the number of pumps. Data so far available indicates that isoforms may be adapted to specific functions. For more information, check PMID 19789383. The ER/SR pump genes (SERCA, ATP2A) are listed with aliases in parenthesis, full names and links to gene report pages:

Atp2a1 (Serca1, calcium pump 1) – ATPase sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ transporting 1
Atp2a2 (Serca2, calcium pump 2) – ATPase sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ transporting 2
Atp2a3 (Serca3, calcium pump 3) – ATPase sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ transporting 3
