GENE - TERM ANNOTATION REPORT

RGD ID: 2535
Species: Rattus norvegicus
RGD Object: Gene
Symbol: Ednra
Name: endothelin receptor type A
Acc ID: GO:0030202
Term: heparin proteoglycan metabolic process
Definition: The chemical reactions and pathways involving heparin proteoglycans, which have glycosaminoglycan repeats consisting predominantly of alternating alpha-(1->4)-linked D-galactose and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine-6-sulfate residues. Heparin is similar to heparan sulfates but is of somewhat higher average Mr (6000-20000) and contains fewer N-acetyl groups and more N-sulfate and O-sulfate groups. They found mainly as an intracellular component of mast cells.
Definition Source(s): GOC:mah, ISBN:0198506732
Note: Use of the qualifier "multiple interactions" designates that the annotated interaction is comprised of a complex set of reactions and/or regulatory events, possibly involving additional chemicals and/or gene products.
