A furopyran that is (3aR,7aR)-hexahydro-2H-furo[3,2-b]pyran substituted by carboxy and (2S)-2-amino-2-carboxyethyl groups at position 2 (the 2R,3aR,7aR-stereoisomer). It is an antagonist of the kainate-type ionotropic receptor, GluK1.
