Lkb1 complex
The main upstream kinase activator of AMPK is Lkb1 – a complex of one catalytic Stk11 (Lkb1) and two regulatory Strad (Lyk5) and Cab39 (MO25) subunits. Note that each of the regulatory proteins exist as two isoforms (Strada and Stradb, Cab39 and Cab39l, known as MO25a and MO25b), but information is available primarily for only one of each – Strada and Cab39, respectively. The genes are listed with aliases in parentheses, full names and links to gene report pages:
Stk11 (Lkb1) – serine/threonine kinase 11
Strada (Strad, Lyk5) – STE20-related kinase adaptor alpha
Cab39 (MO25) – calcium binding protein 39
