Description: This rat (developed spontaneous microphthalmia) was found in a SD rat colony at Yamanouchi Pharma Inc. (Astellas Pharma Inc.)Genomic DNA analysis from mutants revealed a single base(c) insertion, resulting in a abnormal stop codon at 33-bp downstream from the insertion site due to frameshift.
