Any quantification of a morphological or physiological parameter of one or more nucleic acids in the liver, the large, dark-red organ located in the cranial portion of the abdomen of vertebrates, the functions of which include storage and filtration of blood; secretion of bile; detoxification of noxious substances; conversion of sugars into glycogen; synthesis and breakdown of fats and temporary storage of fatty acids; and synthesis of serum proteins. Nucleic acids are high-molecular-weight polymeric compounds composed of nucleotides, each consisting of a purine or pyrimidine base, a ribose or deoxyribose sugar, and a phosphate group, and are involved in the determination and transmission of genetic characteristics.
