Definition:A myxoma (tumor of primitive connective tissue) of the heart. Cardiac myxomas consist of stellate to plump, cytologically bland mesenchymal cells set in a myxoid stroma. Cardiac myxomas are of endocardial origin and general project from the endocardium into a cardiac chamber.
