cisplatin DNA adducts

Inside the nucleus, cisplatin interacts with DNA bases where it favors the N7 of purines, primarily forming 1,2-intrastrand adducts between adjacent guanosines and to a lesser extent, 1,3-intrastrand, interstrand and mono Pt-DNA adducts. X-ray crystal structures and solution structures have been solved for several adducts. Several links to PDB structures are provided:

1,2-intrastrand cisplatin adduct – 1AIO
1,3-intrastrand cisplatin adduct – 1DA4
interstrand cisplatin adduct – 1A2E
