ORAIs

Store-operated ORAI calcium channels are activated by depletion of Ca2+ from intracellular ER stores via Stim proteins, Stim1 and 2. While Stim proteins are Ca2+ sensors, their function is to activate the Orai channels rather than as effectors furthering the Ca2+ signal and they are also listed here. For more information on Stim proteins and their role in ORAI channel function, check PMID 22914293. The channel genes are listed with aliases in parentheses, full names and links to gene report pages:

Orai1 (CRACM1) – ORAI calcium release-activated calcium modulator 1
