Syt proteinsSynaptotagmins (Syt) are a family of calcium-binding proteins that exert a regulatory role in calcium-triggered exocytosis. Of the more than 15 family members, Syt7 and Syt9 are believed to be calcium sensors for the calcium-mediated release of insulin-granules from the pancreatic beta cells.
