Syt proteins

Synaptotagmins (Syt) are a family of calcium-binding proteins that exert a regulatory role in calcium-triggered exocytosis. Of the more than 15 family members, Syt7 and Syt9 are believed to be calcium sensors for the calcium-mediated release of insulin-granules from the pancreatic beta cells. The two genes are listed with aliases in parenthesis, full names and links to gene report pages:

Syt7 (synaptotagmin VII) – synaptotagmin 7
Syt9 (synaptotagmin IX, Sytv) – synaptotagmin 9
