MGI Disease Automated Import and Annotation Pipeline

Gene-to-disease associations are downloaded from the Mouse Genome Informatics (MGI) Database (http://www.informatics.jax.org/downloads/reports/MGI_DO.rpt). MGI gene IDs and/or NCBI GeneIDs in the incoming file are matched to the corresponding IDs for RGD genes and annotations for the DOIDs in the incoming files are assigned to those genes in RGD. Because the annotations in the incoming file do not include an evidence code, the annotations at RGD are given an evidence code of "IEA" or "inferred from electronic annotation" for the source species and are automatically propagated to the orthologous genes with the "ISS" ("inferred from sequence or structural similarity") evidence code. The OMIM ID(s) listed in the incoming file are added as a note to the annotation in RGD. The source of the annotations is listed as "MGI".
