A mixture in which 2.8 moles of glucose, the monosaccharide sugar (C6H12O6) which is the end product of carbohydrate metabolism, and the chief source of energy for living organisms, are distributed uniformly throughout a sufficient volume of another substance (the solvent), usually water, so that the mixture is homogeneous at the molecular level and the final volume is one liter.
