Definition:Method using a device designed to follow a predetermined sequence of individual operations repeatedly and essentially without external influence or control to measure the entire amount of protein, the mix of complex organic compounds containing carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur consisting of alpha-amino acids joined by peptide linkages, in plasma, the fluid portion of the blood in which the particulate components are suspended.
