Protein phosphatase-1 complex
Serine/threonine protein phosphatase 1 is a complex between a catalytic subunit encoded by three genes in mammals and any of a host of regulatory subunits. The subunits responsible for the regulatory role the enzyme plays in glycogen metabolism, the G-subunits, belong to the R3 family. The genes for the catalytic and regulatory R3 subunits are listed with aliases in parentheses, full names and links to gene report pages:
Ppp1ca (Ppp1a, Pp-1a) – protein phosphatase 1 catalytic subunit alpha
Ppp1cb (Pp-1b) – protein phosphatase 1 catalytic subunit beta
Ppp1cc (Ppp1g) – protein phosphatase 1 catalytic subunit gamma
Ppp1r3a (Pp1g, Gm) – protein phosphatase 1, regulatory subunit 3A
Ppp1r3b (Gl) – protein phosphatase 1, regulatory subunit 3B
Ppp1r3c (Ppp1r5) – protein phosphatase 1, regulatory subunit 3C
Ppp1r3d (Ppp1r6) – protein phosphatase 1, regulatory subunit 3D
Ppp1r3e – protein phosphatase 1, regulatory subunit 3E
