Pdp members

Pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatases (Pdp) dephosphorylate the modified serine residues in the E1 component of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDC) and restore its activity. The activity of the two enzymes requires Mg2+; Ppm2c (known as Pdp1) also contains a larger subunit – the bovine protein exerts a regulatory role but the mammalian counterpart is still to be characterized. The two phosphatases are listed with aliases in parentheses, full names and links to report pages:

Pdp1 (Ppm2c, Pdh) – pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatase catalytic subunit 1

Pdp2 – pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatase catalytic subunit 2
