Srebf targets

Srebf targets include genes involved in cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism as well as the Insig1 gene. Insig1 is one of the two Insig members in the Srebf pathway. Some of the targets have been deduced by over-expression analyses of transcriptionally active nuclear Srebps [see reference PMID 14512514]. The genes are listed with aliases in parentheses, full names and links to gene report pages:

Hmgcs1 – 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA synthase 1
Hmgcr (3H3M) – 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase
Fdft1 (Sqs) – farnesyl diphosphate farnesyl transferase 1
Fdps (Fpps, Fps) – farnesyl diphosphate synthase
Ldlr (LDLRA) – low density lipoprotein receptor
Acly (ATPCL) – ATP citrate lyase
Acaca (Acac, Acc, Acc1) – acetyl-CoA carboxylase alpha
Fasn (Fas) – fatty acid synthase
Insig1 (Cl-6, Cl6) – insulin induced gene 1
