Description: Diabetic BB/OK were crossed with male SHR/Mol and the resulting hybrids were backcrossed to BB/OK. Hybrids of each backross were analysed using microsatellite markers. After 7 backcrosses the animals were intercrossed and the ones which were homozygous to the SHR allele were selected. This fragment is 24cM long.
