Strain: Iusm:P

Symbol: Iusm:P
Strain: P
Substrain: Iusm
Full Name: alcohol-preferring
RGD ID: 1641867
Citation ID: RRID:RGD_1641867
Ontology ID: RS:0001377
Alleles: Snca
Also Known As: iP; P/Iusm; iP/Iusm
Type: outbred
Available Source: Not Available
Origination: Indiana Alcohol Research Center at the Indiana University School of Medicine
Description: These were developed at Indiana University for alcohol-preferring behavior through bidirectional selective breeding of Wistar rats from the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Washington, DC. A single pair of rats with high preference and another pair with low preference were mated to develop this preference line (P) and non-preference line (Iusm:NP, RGD:1641873).
Last Known Status: Unknown
