Description: Male OLETF was crossed with female F344. F1 were backcrossed to female F344 for 5 generations. Microsatellite-based genotyping was performed to select the best male that had the best OLETF donor genome. Once the region was fixed the resultant congenic strain was maintained by brother-sister mating.29.5 cM segment from the centromere of chr 14 of the OLETF genome was transferred.
