strain_characteristics Life expectancy of this strain is a half of WKY rat (male: average 212 days, female: average 340 days). This strain shows similar symptoms to human stroke. The incidence of hypertensive cerebrovascular lesion is over 90% and this lesion tend to occur in the back of the head. 1302502
