Located in non-motile cilium and nuclear speck. Is expressed in several structures, including early conceptus; gut; nervous system; oocyte; and retina layer. Used to study nephronophthisis 7. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in nephronophthisis 7. Orthologous to human GLIS2 (GLIS family zinc finger 2).
