GENE - CHEMICAL INTERACTIONS REPORT

RGD ID: 730935
Species: Homo sapiens
RGD Object: Gene
Symbol: HIF1A
Name: hypoxia inducible factor 1 subunit alpha
Acc ID: CHEBI:31823
Term: mercury dichloride
Definition: A mercury coordination entity made up of linear triatomic molecules in which a mercury atom is bonded to two chlorines. Water-soluble, it is highly toxic. Once used in a wide variety of applications, including preserving wood and anatomical specimens, embalming and disinfecting, as an intensifier in photography, as a mordant for rabbit and beaver furs, and freeing gold from lead, its use has markedly declined as less toxic alternatives have been developed.
Chemical ID: MESH:D008627
Note: Use of the qualifier "multiple interactions" designates that the annotated interaction is comprised of a complex set of reactions and/or regulatory events, possibly involving additional chemicals and/or gene products.
