GENE - CHEMICAL INTERACTIONS REPORT

RGD ID: 621360
Species: Rattus norvegicus
RGD Object: Gene
Symbol: Aco2
Name: aconitase 2
Acc ID: CHEBI:31604
Term: ferric ammonium citrate
Definition: A mixture of indefinite composition that contains ferric and ammonium cations and citrate(3-) anions, ferric ammonium citrate may be obtained as red crystals or a brownish yellow powder or as green crystals or powder. It is added to foods as an acidity regulator and anticaking agent. It is also used as a positive oral contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging, and was formerly administered orally as a source of iron for the treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia.
Chemical ID: MESH:C013531
Note: Use of the qualifier "multiple interactions" designates that the annotated interaction is comprised of a complex set of reactions and/or regulatory events, possibly involving additional chemicals and/or gene products.
