GENE - CHEMICAL INTERACTIONS REPORT

RGD ID: 2635
Species: Rattus norvegicus
RGD Object: Gene
Symbol: Fth1
Name: ferritin heavy chain 1
Acc ID: CHEBI:173086
Term: ferrostatin-1
Definition: An ethyl ester resulting from the formal condensation of the carboxy group of 3-amino-4-(cyclohexylamino)benzoic acid with ethanol. It is a potent inhibitor of ferroptosis, a distinct non-apoptotic form of cell death caused by lipid peroxidation. It is also a radical-trapping antioxidant and has the ability to reduce the accumulation of lipid peroxides and chain-carrying peroxyl radicals.
Chemical ID: MESH:C573944
Note: Use of the qualifier "multiple interactions" designates that the annotated interaction is comprised of a complex set of reactions and/or regulatory events, possibly involving additional chemicals and/or gene products.
