GENE - CHEMICAL INTERACTIONS REPORT

RGD ID: 1589741
Species: Rattus norvegicus
RGD Object: Gene
Symbol: Rgs16
Name: regulator of G-protein signaling 16
Acc ID: CHEBI:144400
Term: dinophysistoxin 1
Definition: A ketal that is a marine toxin structurally related to okadaic acid. Produced by dinoflagellates it is known to accumulate in shellfish and cause diarrhoeic shellfish poisoning. It is an inhibitor of serine/threonine protein phosphatases 1 (PP1) and PP2A and has been shown to promote cancer cell growth in tumour cell lines and animal models.
Chemical ID: MESH:C051904
Note: Use of the qualifier "multiple interactions" designates that the annotated interaction is comprised of a complex set of reactions and/or regulatory events, possibly involving additional chemicals and/or gene products.
