GENE - CHEMICAL INTERACTIONS REPORT

RGD ID: 3876
Species: Rattus norvegicus
RGD Object: Gene
Symbol: Tnf
Name: tumor necrosis factor
Acc ID: CHEBI:3558
Term: cerivastatin
Definition: (3R,5S)-3,5-dihydroxyhept-6-enoic acid in which the (7E)-hydrogen is substituted by a 4-(4-fluorophenyl)-2,6-diisopropyl-5-(methoxymethyl)pyridin-3-yl group. Formerly used (as its sodium salt) to lower cholesterol and prevent cardiovascular disease, it was withdrawn from the market worldwide in 2001 following reports of a severe form of muscle toxicity.
Chemical ID: MESH:C086276
Note: Use of the qualifier "multiple interactions" designates that the annotated interaction is comprised of a complex set of reactions and/or regulatory events, possibly involving additional chemicals and/or gene products.
