GENE - TERM ANNOTATION REPORT

RGD ID: 11682247
Species: Pan paniscus
RGD Object: Gene
Symbol: RAB11A
Name: RAB11A, member RAS oncogene family
Acc ID: PW:0000159
Term: Rab family mediated signaling pathway
Definition: Rab family mediated signaling pathways are involved in the regulation of intracellular vesicle trafficking. More than 60 Rab members bind to specific effectors to regulate all aspects of vesicular trafficking - from formation and transport of vesicles, to tethering and fusion with target membranes. Of note is that cytoskeletal rearrangements such as actin remodeling, a process regulated by the Rho family, have a role to play in vesicular trafficking.
Definition Source(s): GO:0032482, PMID:11152757, PMID:16882731, PMID:18171430
Note: Use of the qualifier "multiple interactions" designates that the annotated interaction is comprised of a complex set of reactions and/or regulatory events, possibly involving additional chemicals and/or gene products.
