A method to determine the level of one or more eicosanoids, physiologically active molecules derived by oxidation of twenty-carbon essential fatty acids such as arachidonic acid, inserum. Serum is the clear liquid that separates from blood when it is allowed to clot completely, and is therefore blood plasma from which protein factors have been removed during clotting.
