calculated plasma very low density lipoprotein cholesterol level +
The amount of very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol in a specified volume of blood plasma where the value was derived by a mathematical process or computation rather than being measured directly. VLDL are a class of lipoproteins (typical density in plasma between 0.95 and 1.006 g/ml) that transport exogenous triglycerides and cholesterol from the small intestine to other tissues. VLDL constitute a class of large (e.g. approximately 30-80 nm in diameter) lipoprotein particles.
