A calculated measurement in which the number of neutrophils in a specified sample of exudate is divided by the total number of cells in that sample of exudate and the result presented as a ratio, fraction, quotient or percentage. A neutrophil is a granular leukocyte having a nucleus with three to five lobes connected by threads of chromatin, and cytoplasm containing very fine granules.
