length of intestine affected by colonic aganglionosis to total length of colon ratio
A calculated measurement in which the value of the cumulative linear size along the longest dimension of the segments of the colon affected by colonic aganglionosis is divided by the value of the entire linear distance between the two ends of that colon and presented as a ratio, fraction, quotient or percentage. Colonic aganglionosis is the absence of parasympathetic ganglion cells in any or all of the myenteric plexus, a network of autonomic nerve fibers within the tunica muscularis of the wall of the alimentary canal in general and of the colon in particular. The colon is the segment of the large intestine between the cecum and the rectum.
