A calculated measurement in which the amount of ethanol, the colorless, volatile, flammable liquid, CH3CH2OH, produced by yeast fermentation of carbohydrates or synthesized by hydration of ethylene, consumed as a drink, that is, a liquid brought into the mouth and swallowed to quench thirst, for nourishment, etc., per unit time, is divided by the total weight of the body and the result presented as a ratio, fraction, quotient or percentage, thus normalizing it to body weight and, by extension, to the size of the organism.
