A calculated value in which the weight of one or both of the inguinal fat pads, that is, the accumulations of encapsulated adipose tissue located in the junctional region between the abdomen and thigh, is divided by the total weight of the body and presented as a ratio, fraction or quotient, thus normalizing it to body weight and, by extension, to the size of the organism.
