The mesonephric glomerulus is a capillary tuft which forms a close network with the visceral epithelium (podocytes) and the mesangium to form the filtration barrier and is surrounded by Bowman's capsule in nephrons of the mature vertebrate kidney, or mesonephros[GO].
Comment:
[homology-note] "In animals in which the mesonephros is the terminal kidney, such as amphibians and fish, the final organ is very complex, containing a large number of nephrons, most of which have an internal glomerulus.[well established][VHOG]" xsd:string {date_retrieved="2012-09-17", external_class="VHOG:0001238", ontology="VHOG", source="ISBN:978-0127224411 Vize PD, Woolf AS, Bard JBL, The kidney: From normal development to congenital disease (2003) p.3", source="http://bgee.unil.ch/"}
