Definition:The pathway of processing - absorption, distribution, metabolism or elimination - of didanosine, a drug used for the treatment of HIV. Didanosine triphosphate is the active form of the drug which is intracellularly metabolized. Genetic variations can result in changes in the availability of the drug.
