Definition:A pathway triggered by administration of doxorubicin, a widely used chemotherapeutic agent. The cytotoxicity of doxorubicin is primarily manifested in its cardiotoxic effect that can lead to heart failure, Possible causes are reactive oxygen species (ROS), impaired iron homeostasis and mitochondrial dysfunction.
