Definition:The pathway of doxorubicin-target interaction and of the biochemical or physiological responses to drug. Doxorubicin is used as a chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of many cancers. Its use is restricted by the serious cardiotoxic effects it exerts. Genetic variations can cause differences in the response of the organism to the drug.
