Definition:The pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of lamivudine, a reverse transcriptase enzyme inhibitor used for the treatment of HIV type 1 and 2 and Hepatitis B virus. Genetic variations can result in changes in drug availability and can cause differences in the response of the organism to the drug.
