Definition:any structural anomaly of the zygomaticus major and/or minor facial muscles that originate from the body of the zygoma and pass downwards to insert into the corner of the mouth and lateral aspect of the upper lip, respectively; these muscles receive their nerve supply on their deep surface from the zygomatic and buccal branches of the facial nerve and lift the corners of the mouth
