Definition:An assay of inulin content in a liquid sample by the thiourea-resorcinol method, where an orange-red color is formed by the reaction of hydrolyzed inulin with resorinol in strong hydrochloric acid. Inulin clearance can be used to assess glomerular filtration rate.
